Whether you’re a kid or just a kid at heart, check out the hip-hop dance moves taught by our lead choreographer and team. Often improvisational in nature, hip‑hop crews sometimes engage in freestyle dance competitions and events.

    BALLET

Ballet focuses on alignment—keeping the head, shoulders, and hips vertically balanced—and you can learn it best with us. “Turnout” involves rotating the legs outward, which promotes clean footwork, graceful port de bras (arm movements), and correct body positioning, lines, and angles. Other aspects include refined posture, pointed toes, relaxed shoulders, and core engagement, all working together to increase turnout and enhance alignment. Ballet technique also showcases ballon—the appearance of light, gravity-defying leaps. Pointe technique involves dancing on the tips of fully extended feet.

    BELLY DANCING

Belly dance emphasizes complex torso movements. You can learn percussive moves, fluid movement, shimmies, shivers, and vibrations from an expert instructor. The most common costume is the “bedlah” style—a fitted top and hip belt paired with a full-length skirt or harem pants.

Belly dance is a non-impact, weight-bearing exercise suitable for all ages. Its focus on isolation improves torso flexibility. Many moves benefit the spine by lengthening (decompressing) and strengthening the column of spinal and abdominal muscles gently. Dancing with a veil builds upper-body strength in the arms and shoulders, while playing zills (finger cymbals) develops finger independence and strength. Hip movements strengthen the legs and the long muscles of the back.
